Visitors!!!! YAY!!!! And some other weird stuff…

When I don’t have something I really want to say, these posts tend to be a bit of a ramble, but that’s no surprise to any of you I’m sure. Last week we had another visitor!!! Everyone here gets very impressed that we’ve been here a month and a half and we’ve already had two visitors πŸ™‚ Now we just need you guys to keep coming so we can keep up our cool reputation πŸ™‚ Anyway, my last day of classes ended with meeting up with Colette and her friend Matthew who were on a short holiday from Korea. They were only here 2 days and then on to Singapore…where we will be headed next weekend!

First stop was the famous Jalan Alor for some more delicious street food, for the first time…

Oysters, mussels, spring rolls and CRAB!!!

SEAFOOD! I actually had Curry Laksa since I’m not big on seafood, but I did indulge in one of the huge oysters….

Looks like he's about to walk right out of the bowl.

Of course, I couldn’t let them leave KL without trying…

After a few way too expensive beers at a bar, I had to head home for my parent teacher conferences the next morning. The next day I gave them a tour of our building, our Thursday night market, and then we headed over to our favorite restaurant Spicy, and then to the Petronas towers all lit up at night. I was sad to see them leave for Singapore, but from what I hear it was awesome!

Thanks for visiting! I hope KL was a nice change of pace from Korea!

With our visitors gone, and my school term over, I’ve been enjoying a little break over here in KL. We knew it rained here a lot, but the first week we were here, it didn’t rain once! That’s no longer anywhere close to the case. It rains at least once almost everyday. Just for reference:

It’s not surprising traffic is a nightmare whenever it rains during rush hour…Kevin’s commute home yesterday was a nightmare. With English being so widely spoken here, sometimes it’s easy to forget we’re so far from the US. But then there’s stuff like this:

Don't know if you can see this, but the store is called 'Ethnic clothes'...apparently ethnic clothes here are equivalent to the closet of Faith Bily ;) It's literally The Phoenix in KL
